Balance: To gain more balance and get a longer manual always lean backwards. Your front foot should be placed on the top bolts and your trail foot should be place on the center of the tail so it won’t fall off. Otherwise you will find your self in an “uncomfortable” position. It’s better to fall backwards than landing a small manual for practice. You should start trying to manual a meter when you first start out. Then pick up your speed and aim for going 2 meters or more. Your knees should be slightly bent to allow for easier mobility.

Landing: Landing is the easiest part of the manual. Riser pads make it even easier however I find them to take away from your pop. To land a manual simply lean forward and even out your weight over the board. If you lean to far back or forward you may get wheel bite and suffer injury. Riser pads help prevent wheel bite and tightening your trucks does too. If you have tight trucks you can’t turn by leaning  to a side but, it is much easier to land tricks!

Modified Manuals: nose manual, pivot, one-wheeled, vertical manual
