Better Flip: To get a faster more controlled flip you should place your foot at a 45 degree angle in the lower middle part of the board. Your heel should still hang off of the board by atleast a good inch. If your not getting a very good flip press down harder with your front foot. It works the same way vice versa. Don’t use your front foot to pop the board, because that is what the back foot is for. Most people tell you to slide your front foot up the board till you hit the nose where you would then push down. I find this to be amazingly hard. If you only slide your front foot up 3inches… give or take and press down, you will have a great spin in less time. This makes up if you have a bad pop. Remember it takes good technique to perfect a kickflip!

Landing: Before you start your kickflip have your knees bent at a 90 degree angle or however you feel comfortable. If you have too much stress on your leg you will without a doubt in my mind have an uncontrollable flip. That in the end will make it very hard to land. When you do land it like that it will be mainly luck. If you follow the given tips remember to press down hard, get your upper foot out of the way from the flip, and keep your feet above the board once you have the flip down.

Other: Start practicing your kickflip on the grass to prevent getting injured. If you still are worried about getting hurt, go to our protection section and buy some pads. After you have landed it a few times go to hard, rough ground while staying stationary. Once you’ve landed that you are ready to try to land a kickflip while moving.
